Etegami is the Japanese art of postcard making that combines image and text with roots in calligraphy. It was developed in the 1960s by Kunio Koike, a calligrapher that wanted to do away with the rigidity of the tradition and practice of the tradition, opening up a format that allowed more freedom, lightness, and spontaneity.
Through this workshop you'll learn the history, loose rules, techniques, and materials needed to create your own works of Etegami, which can then be sent or kept for yourself. As we enter a season of Thanksgiving, this is the perfect way to both fill your own bucket, and share your talents with others. $80
